Been changing the injectors and reinstalling the fuel rail. I wanted to check for leaks and fuel pressure drop before reinstalling the rest of the upper engine so I followed GM service manual but:
GDS2 can't activate fuel pump relay. Error is "Device limits exceeded / Incorrect power mode. Check Ignition switch". I pressed the start button on the dashboard before doing it so I think Ignition is on (at least my dashboard screen is on showing mileage and gauges.). I can control other features like rolling the windows up and down. Not sure if it's related but when I launch GDS2 I also get an error: "License expired! Available times: 2. Please update VCI!"
HPTuners also can't activate fuel pump relay but I'm not sure it's supposed to be capable of it. No error message here
HP Tuners is just a generic OBD2 scan tool…I don’t think it has bidirectional capabilities…you can jump terminals 30 and 87 on the fuel pump relay and have it turn on for as long as necessary…it’s always a good idea to let us know your model year as a minimum.
Good suggestion!
It's a C7 2014 Z51 btw
Could an issue with my BCM (short to ground DTC B1395) be the cause of GDS not able to control that relay? Today I will investigate what prev owner did with the BCM. They cut some wires and installed 2 relays. I'll make another thread about that mess
You may have to be in “Service Only Mode” …you said you “think” the ignition is on…with your foot off the brake press the bottom of the ignition button for 5 seconds and the green start light will illuminate …you will also see the MIL (Check Engine Light) illuminated…maybe that’s why it’s saying check ignition switch…B1325 involves the HVAC or Lighting system…you bought your GDS2 off Amazon ??…I’d be careful of using this stuff from China !!...oh, no fuel pump relay...I'm so used to C5 and 6...there is the fuel pump driver control module which powers the low pressure fuel pump...my bad !!
