Default TPMS fix

I had my front right TPMS start reading to low. It was reading 22 psi when the tire was 30 psi. I tried the onboard reset mode, a few times, didn't seem to work. I let air out of the tire, down to 5 psi, filled it back to 30 psi. Turned the car ignition on, went to the tire pressure readings on the display, bang, they all read 30 psi now. Whew. I didn't even have to do a relearn again.

It might be on its way out (battery). I had one start doing something similar last fall. By spring it was totally dead (reading dashes). I just had it replaced about a month ago. All good now.

They are only about a year old. Cross my fingers.

Oh jeez. Ok, shouldn't be a battery/age issue like mine then. What brand and model are they?

Was there a date or lot date code on the “new” TPMS’s? They could have been old stock and sitting on a shelf when they were finally installed.

If you bought them on Amazon or eBay, they are likely counterfeit and will be dead in less than 2 years.... I learned this the hard way!
