Default Touchscreen Display too dark

Dear fans,

I unfortunately have a problem with the touchscreen display. After turning on the radio, the display is about as bright as the speedometer unit.

After a short time, the touchscreen dims in two steps and is difficult to read with the roof open and the sun shining. When I open the door, the display brightens again, then close the door again, and after a short time, it dims again in two steps – darker and even darker. The display flickers very minimally, but everything works, and when driving in the evening or with the roof closed, you can still see everything. The display doesn't go black.

What I've tried so far:

Disconnected the battery

Display setting: Day mode

Automatic lights on and off

Dimmer works

Pulled fuse 22 (display) with and without the ignition on, it works for 1 or 2 hours.

Removed the triangular window, no broken cables are visible, and the cables seem to be secure; at least, moving the cables doesn't cause any change.

Maybe someone else here has an idea?

If a new display is needed, can I find the part number without removing the entire display? There seem to be two options.

Do I need to take a workshop to install a new display for software or registration?

Thanks for your advice.

Michael
