Backfire! Afterfire!?
Today Installed some new brake pads and a new wild to wild since my last one got wet somehow and quit. Lately playing around I discovered in sport mode and auto, you can get a pretty awesome crack out of the exhaust 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 shifts if you stay on it. Sounds awesome! Today mid 2nd gear the car went off like a gun. I mean, it sounded cool but is out of character from my short time owning the car. I had the windows down and it sounded like I shot at someone. Just a mid gear "bang". I had valves locked open of course. Anyone else experience that ever? Its hot and humid. Running normal 93 octane. Everything stock except m2w.

On our 2017 Z51 A8, the exhaust pop happens as the car upshifts at ~redline, but not at any other time.

Yes, have had same issue. I brand new to the forum so I’ll make this brief. Have a 2014 Stingray Vert with 16,000 actual miles on it, purchased a month ago. Love this car! When I get on it seems like between 1-2nd or 2-3rd I hear the same shot sound. I’m glad I’m not the only one but like you, I’d like to know if it’s indicating a problem or just a great sound!?
