Default E-LSD issue

Hello all, I recently bought a 2016 Z06, prior to me buying it it had been in the shop for a rear axle issue in which the rear axle module was replaced, then the entire rear diff was replaced. After I bought it I continued to have the Service rear axle message. During some research had read that it could be a low battery so I put in a new one and cleared all codes. After this the car was still had the problem and the car was under a parts warranty so I took it into the dealer. They said they could not get the module to communicate so they put on another module and returned the car to me. Now I'm having an issue that every time i start the car i can hear the E-LSD motor cycling and if you watch the E-LSD screen it will cycle 0%-100% then back to 0% it will do this sometime 6-7 times. While it is doing this if you attempt to drive you can feel that the diff is locked, or extremely tight. however once its done it is usually ok driving, but sometimes it will say service rear axle again.
Any ideas on what the issue could be? does something need bled or adjusted maybe?

Did you happen to record the codes before you cleared them? The codes will give you an idea of where the failure is. They don't necessarily tell you which component is having a problem but there are diagnostic procedures for each code that may narrow things down. By the way, engine codes can cause a Service Rear Axle Message since the rear axle won't work properly if the engine isn't working properly.

yep codes from my snap on Triton scanner were
C0800-Control module power circuit voltage above threshold
U0437-invalid data received from differential control module
U042B- invalid data received from chassis control module

No codes from anything engine related and it runs great and everything looks good as well when monitoring via hp tuners.

At that time the only thing the ELSD screen would show was "---%" they then replaced the module for the 2nd time and it now gets actual numbers from the module and it is communicating. However as said it does the cycle thing every time i start it now.

Sounds like they didn't bleed the system

I second the system bleed suggestion. I replaced the trans in my C7 Z and had this light. If the hydraulic hoses to the ELSD are disconnected you need to bleed the system which it sounds like it happened when the differential was replaced in your car.

It’s a relatively simple process but you will need a scan tool with options to do the bleed. I used an Autel diagnostic tool I bought a few years ago. Hope this helps!
