Default Track Rotors

Any suggestions for replacement brake rotors that are good for track days? I burnt up the front rotors after 2 track days at Road America - developed heat spots. I didn't think I was riding on the brakes too much but it's possible. I was using Carbotech XP10 front pads and XP8 rear pads

You probably melted the pads and you're seeing the deposits from them on the rotors.

Regardless.....I use Girodisc rings with the factory hats in the front and Girodisc rears. I buy via KNS Brakes.

To keep the heat transfer down, I have titanium shims between the calipers and pads. The shims are also from Girodisc and they drop right in.

Thank you!

I’ll follow up with them to order some new rotors.

Would you recommend upgrading the pads as well if those overheated?

For that track and the weight of the car I’d go at a minimum XP12 F / XP10 rear. If you’re on Sport Cups or Supercar 3Rs or other 100TW tire I’d go XP20 / XP12.

Another vote for girodisk rotors here as well with Hawk 70/60 pads.
