I am looking for a handheld turner that is not too expensive to tune my 2015 Corvette Z51. Just wondering if anyone has used an SCT or Diablosport, and which one would you use?

I don't have a ton of experience with it, but I did buy the Diablo Sport inTune i3 Tuner mainly to disable the AFM permanently. The tune they provide (and require) for that option to be disabled has more pep and quicker throttle response in my opinion.
That's actually what I want a handheld one. But I am confused about which one to get. I read about HP Tuner, but you need some experience to use it. I readed mixed reviews about DiabloSport and very little on SCP. I was hoping I get some user experience with SCP.

Gotcha. For what it's worth, the Diablo Sport was very intuitive. The interface was super easy to use.
I can't speak for the Diablo canned tunes. It was easy to use and I got it from Diablew who added his own flavor to the programs. Takes out AFM, increases throttle tip in and changes the transmission shifting.

AFM delete, throttle tip in increased and firmer shifting (maybe a little higher rpm before the shift). I believe he altered the canned tune from Diablo. 3 items.
I change a lot of things... a small sample of just some of the things are: disable engine torque management, adjust part-throttle fueling/timing, WOT fueling/timing, knock retard settings, throttle settings, tranny shifting settings (pressure/firmness, shift points, quickness),etc...

Either one, how much previous knowledge should you have in order to be effective and not screw up royally? Also, I don't believe there are any changes either can have on the Z51 option package settings/components. Am I correct?
Thank you
Mark
The concern I have with these handheld devices is if I do screw up. I know the units keep a stock backup. Has anyone seen or heard if the backup got corrupted? Is there a backup to the backup or can you create a copy of the backup? I don't want to add the tune to the car and drive it a little and then I start to get CEL.

Get a girl who is fluent in English to do it for you? Guys won't read instructions so a girl it is.

It does keep a back up but I don't see an issue unless you do something stupid like taking a shower or swim with it in your clothes. Regardless, you can load a custom tube and you can probably back it up. I just don't know how at the moment. I remember someone telling me how to.
I can definitely get you hooked up with a correct version Diablosport inTune or Trinity programmer and a custom tune for your car... I've done a thousand of those over the years...
With the custom tune, you'll gain even better/quicker throttle response & acceleration, stronger/harder pull, smoother & quicker power delivery throughout the rpm's, better automatic tranny performance/shifting, etc...

I have the DiableSport InTune3. Lew did the tune and did a great job. Love how the car drives and performs.
Highly recommend getting the DiabloSport from Lew and having him do the tune for you.
