taking my car to the dealership this weekend wondering if someone can help me out with a problem with my cy corvette stringray
wondering if someone can help me with a issue I've been having. so my car was experiencing overheat but no warning on my car shown up and randomly happen when I take long drive. it works normally when going to my destination but after driving back my A/C would push hot air. happen like 3 times and took it to the dealership and they cleaned out the thottle body and worked fine until a few months later. had a engine check light PO700 and PO711 involving the transmission and I don't think that would cause my car to overheat and the cooling system works fine and the dealership told me that the thermostat is good. am wondering if it's a bad ground cable had them fix with with a insulated wire connector. when replacing the battery I accidentally torn the small ground battery cable. should I get that cable replaced.
most answer I got was thermostat just wanted to make sure so I can have the dealership check it out. also can someone help me know if having a bad ground cable will cause my car to have this overheating due to making up with the sensor
yeah when the car overheat the fan will be on for a long period that normally drain the battery so I have to disconnect the battery and wait 30 minutes and reconnect and everything works fine
so will that be a ground strap issue then and I will have the dealership check it out for me
A bad ground would not because your car to overheat…if you are taking it to a dealership let these guys figure it out…we can only GUESS what your problem is on this Forum…dealerships only replace parts and are clueless when it comes to diagnostics…that wire is for your current sensing transformer and yes it needs to be installed…find either a diagnostic shop or auto electric shop in your area and you diagnose based on the symptoms…don’t know what you mean by “making up with the sensor” ??

No. Fans are operating. It's possible you have a blockage of the radiator like a bag or debris. check the radiator opening. Also it's possible the thermostat is failing.
What year car? If it is a 2014, they have a well-known problem with intermittent overheating (especially after a long drive followed by driving in slow-moving traffic) that is caused by a fan problem. The solution is to upgrade to the 2015 and newer 600-watt fan.
If your car is overheating at highway speeds, the fan isn't an issue and assuming the coolant level is at the proper level, either something is blocking the airflow through the radiator or there is an issue with the thermostat, pressure cap or serpentine belt.
It's a shame that out of the box the car overheats. My stock '14 runs borderline and after a day of pushing it hard it began to overheat in a small town in traffic. Pain in the butt
