2014 map updates.
I understand the GM map updates have expired for the C7's. I am not interested in any of the work arounds, car-play, types. I can use my phone for current map info. My question, I have found sellers that are selling the 2023 GM SD card to update the maps. Is this totally BS? Maybe they have figured out a way to unlock the SD card.

I have got assume that it is a scam because the GM map updates were done by Vin# and came only on a thumb drive. There have been reports that the last GM 2019 up dates had problems & caused the system to crash with no know way to get the original nav to ever work again. There has also been vendors out there that you can send your original HMI box in & they can up date it to the newest systems.

x2.WAMS update service works well and is more prompt than their site indicates. (Their advertised turn time was two weeks when I sent my module to them.)
Removing the HMI module is a bit of a contortionist act but, aside from cramped quarters and uncomfortable positions, not that difficult. This
They had my module for only 2-3 days before I received a message the update was complete and it was on its way back to me. Their $35 charge for UPS Ground return shipping was excessive and unnecessary. Reinstalling the module was somewhat easier than removing it. Good luck!
