I've had minor clutch judder in the past, but after getting my trans fluid changed, it seems to have increased. Is that even possible? I'm not sure where the clutch is compared to my manual transmission, but I would think they're adjacent. But if the clutch is sealed, how could fluid seep in?? Seems to happen more on hot days (hey, I'm in SoCal). Thanks.
The clutch is on the back of the engine. The transmission is in the rear, bolted to the transmission differential. The torque tube connects the two. Almost zero chance of transmission fluid leaking into the clutch. Have you ever checked the clutch fluid? Changed the clutch fluid? Search for Ranger method and at least do a partial clutch fluid change. I use Prestone DOT4 brake fluid. Not sure this will calm down the clutch but will improve clutch engagement / disengagement. GL
Thanks! Yes, I've used the Ranger method, but not for several thousand miles. It seems to happen during hot weather, though, and when driving a lot which heats things up in the engine compartment more than only driving 30-60 minutes.
