It's all about branding. If GM is smart, they won't put an auto in anything with a Z06 badge. They could call it something else, like "Cruiser Edition".

And you know all those folks plans how? How many C6's have I owned? And what transmissions?
IF we take that argument to it's logical conclusion, none of should even be here talking about a C7 Z06 since it doesn't even exist in the market yet.

You definition of "very limited" is a little different than mine. The C6 Z06 accounted for 13% of all C6's produced, 27996 Z06's by my count. That's actually quite a few Z06's. Everyone will probably have a different number but to me, 2500 would have been very limited. So no, personally I don't believe the C6 Z06 was very limited.

They are not limited. The carbon editions, Ron Fellows editions, Cooksey editions are limited. A set number built. Z06s and ZR1s were not limited. Chevy built as many as they could sell.

I have a Z, and if it wasn't $13k+ to swap it to an auto I would have done it years ago.

The biggest limiter was their price tag, IMO.

You know what, it would really be appreciated if you would signal that we are no longer talking about Z06's. When you get back on topic, let me know then we can continue the exchange of ideas.

For your information the gt3 covered the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds whereas a zr1 tested by the same magazine and NOT i repeat NOT on drag radials took 11.4 seconds. The gt3 pulls 1.12 g s on the skid pad.Still think its slower? Also its running a puny little normally aspirated v-6 that puts out a measly 475 h.p.So dont get me started.Thats why it cost 145 grand .

I have no problem with this, and where oh where did I say the M6 was obsolete. To get this back on track, my contention is that Chevy needs to offer some sort of auto transmission as an OPTION. You are sounding like you are trying to convince us all that the M6 is going away and you don't want that. Fine, I don't care one way or the other since I only ask that Chevy offer an OPTION!!! You do understand what an option is?

Here we go another dreamer. You go to a track with a stock zr1 and if you run 10.74 i ll give you a new car for free. That is one isolated run on a prepped track.99 er cent of drivers will be hard pressed to go under 11.4 and that is the truth. As for 3.1 on stock tires from 0 to 60,well it just wont happen.Forget these ideal condition runs on prepped track surfaces,we are talking about real world every day situations .Hey fartpipe ran 10.26 with one on a prepped track and on drag radials. Is it possible?Yes is it what most guys will run.No.Dont take my word for it ,go to a track pull in pay your fees then line up the car and pull a run.You wont beat 11.4 i guarantee you.
