My '13 Z06 3LZ w/ F55 MagRide & PTM stickered for right at $90K (paid much less, of course) and I recall seeing a few Z07s stickering for a tad over $100K, not that anyone paid that much for them. I'm all in for a C7 Z07 for under $100K!

Also, remember the huge discounts to move the cars? GM just altered their price to the more realistic (aka what people would actually pay) prices....
The viper is now Dead far as performance...not to start any flaming contest but performance for dollar just got a new face!....I'd still would love to own a Gen 5 for the looks though....but I digress

well yeah and thank god I didn't pay msrp for mine, so really, the new one is maybe a 2k bump in price so, it's all peachy....but sucks for those that would have wanted to trade, they probably won't be able too if they owe on the car as the trade in just took a giant poop!

no because the C7 has as much CF than the ZR1, due to the fact that GM found a way to source it at 50% of what it cost on the Z cars....

ZR1 has hood, roof, B pillar, front fenders and part of the wheel housings, splitter and side skirts, plus the floor board skins made of carbon fiber.
The only mention of carbon fiber used on the C7(all models) is the hood and roof. I didn't see any mention in the press release of other carbon fiber components being used on the Z06 that is not on the stingray.
The C7 uses a low density SMC(not carbon fiber) on the fenders, etc that reduces weight over the same components on the C6, so there is little weight to be shed by using carbon fiber that is much more expensive than SMC.

I believe the C6 ZR1 has more carbon fiber than the C7 Z06.

i find it extremely hard to believe!! Unless the use of cheap parts, which I dont think GM did, how could it ever be under 100K optioned out??

I just hope GM makes enough money on these cars to make it worth their while to continue building these cars. I would like to see GM build a 200K super sedan under some cool new marque that gives them 75K per unit profit just so they can stay in business and continue giving us stunning weapons like this new Z06....

They brought frame construction in house, developed a completely new way to make carbon fiber (much faster and cheaper) and by using this LT block and new 8 speed tranny, which are/will be used in other cars, they leverage this technology across multiple product lines, cutting cost per unit dramatically.

Under 100K sounds about right..Just have to be patient and let the "got to be first" crowd soak up the dealer markup and work out the bugs
