625 wasn't nearly enough to get me interested. 637.5 might be enough. 656, definitely, but only if the hp peak is higher than the torque peak.

Wow, hope it's for real.
I was already impressed by (a minimum of) 625hp along with that 635+ torque...but 650+ would be quite stellar.

Looking at power to weight ratio... it will need 610 HP just to match the C6Z. Hoping for 650+ to offset the rumored 3700 lb weight (sure hope that # is wrong... ).

Good Lord, if this thing is 650+ it's gonna have to be registered as a lethal weapon!

I will take 666HP

....but if it's "only" 625 HP it's still a weapon of mass destruction...

...Trust that.

Trust me. It will not be rated at 666 HP

Maybe it will be like the old days when the pussymatic was given a smaller camshaft than the man ride was

Possibly, but I don't think it will be that heavy. I could see it being over 3500 though so yes, it might still 'need' (so to speak) that 640-650 rating just to maintain that 'total beast' status we're all hoping for.

I'll be shocked if it's north of 635hp.

Don't forget the torque guys. Even with the 470trq from the ls7, with the longer gears the z something's felt soft especially when you compare with the torque from a gt500, just to name one. Now with the lt4 all of that has changed.

Did you just create this "rumor" with this very post?
It's funny when things are mysteriously "rumored".
Yeah...it's going to weigh over 300# more than a C7 Z51.

My guess is that they'll shoot for 640hp....give it 2 more than the ZR1.

I'm sure some good engineers can calculate the HP based on what we know about the LT1, applying the cam specs, CR and boost of the LT4 and get pretty darn close.

Reminds me of the 2007 GT500 days late in 2006 - was originally supposed to be 450, then time passed, went to 475 rumour, then a final number of 500 hp. Impressive right?? until is was known to weigh 3850, and 3920 with the upgraded stereo. As time passed and the tests started coming, you then realized why it had such a big bump - weight !!!! tests were not that impressive. Ford then bumped it to 540 in 2010, then 550, and finally 662. why?? Again, weight !!! Seeing the message here?? Let's hope not.

I think they can (and have) too. That's how they came up with the 625hp number.
Now they're workin' some magic and doing some fine tuning to achieve even more before the final product is totally completed.
I too believe that both horsepower and torque will come in somewhere in the 630-640 range with room for another 10-15 to come during a future model year.
