If I could have it all, I'd be driving my '14 Stingray, with a deposit on a Z06//7 and on the list for the next "Super whiz bang" evolution. But alas, my pockets are not nearly so deep.
My wife and I are in our early 60's. In the last handful of years we both faced serious life threatening health issues. This changed our perspectives in some ways. (Not looking for pity, just setting the scene. Others have had it worse than us. We are now doing REALLY well and are "out of the woods." as they say.)

We're done waiting for the elusive next best thing. Our fannies will be in a 2015 Z06 and our smiles will be wide! Something "better" WILL subsequently be available. That's progress. But the enjoyment we will have in the interim is priceless.

2017... Still going to be bugs and build issues to work out, and I have to save my pennies as these are not going to be cheap. Enjoy my SC GS and the wife's new C7 until then.

I certainly understand not waiting for a car that is "better" as you have stated very well. That is really not the intent of the poll.

This is about waiting a few months to ascertain whether or not the new Z06 rates well on the basis of reports from new buyers of the 2015 model as well as various magazine reviews. I expect the 2016 to be very much the same car as the 2015.

Since the 2015 is a short production year (Jan - Jun/Jul), if one is not able to order a 2015 early on then it will be just a few months (late June) that one can order a 2016 production year Z06 instead.
Yes, the 2016 Z06 will start production in line with the 2016 Stingray just like the 2015 Stingray is close to having orders being taken in late June this year.

So, why not wait a few months to see what the feedback is on the car and get a 2016 instead?

I hope this better explains the intent of the poll.

It would be two years before I could afford one anyways. So I voted 2016

MY 15 or 16, which ever I can. 427 went bye bye last week. Hoping the data logger/Z07 is available in the 1LT. Wife has a loaded Z51 so this will be my track rat car.

2015. I'm #3 on CF dealer list; hopefully he'll get enough allocations to roll down to me.

I'll be getting the M7, so not worried about working out the bugs of the new auto.

Looks like it is pretty evenly split between those that.....

1. Want to open their Christmas presents on Christmas eve;
2. Those that will wait until Christmas Day.

Default Is it just me?

The new Z doesn't look as low and wide. Haven't found specs to compare. Of course I haven't seen one in the flesh. Either way it's a beautiful work of art.

If the car lives up to the hype, the general may be forced to stave off demand by blowing through that 100k benchmark....

2015 for a few reasons.

I think it's fair to assume that the 2016 will carry a modest price bump over the 2015. Also it seems unlikely the first Z06's will be riddled with problems and "bugs" to be "worked out" by 2016 or later. The C7 has been in production for a good while and the Z06 has been in development for ages.

The price bump for 2016 is a very good reason!
BUT, waiting just a few more months and getting the 2016 to be sure about those gremlins...priceless.

I had a cam/headers/tuned '08 Z06 in which 1st & 2nd gear were all but useless. I have a hard time imagining a 3400 lb car cranking 625lbs at 2800 RPM hooking very well. Then again I can't imagine GM marketing a car like that that wouldn't do pretty well in that regard. We'll see. Hmm.

I am on the exact same page. I do not know if I want the M7 or A8, I will wait to see all the reviews and have all the bugs worked out before I dish out $80k~. I am thinking 2017 model year will be my year.
