So pissed
Sorry bud but I think that's a dumb reason to be pissed..lots of people don't track these cars I for one don't why should I not have one before you or someone that's going to track the thing ? I am first on the list for one but if I wasn't and the guy ahead of me on the list was going to track the car it's no reason for me to be pissed!!...
...in saying that good luck with your hunt for the C7 Z06 hope you get one ASAP....

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
That being said, you may still find some slots available not too far down a list @ MSRP, w/ some legwork.
Good luck!
Complaining that your use for the car is more valid than someone else's use, irrelevant. That's like saying that a car is made to break 200 mph, therefor it should never be driven less than 200 mph. Sorry, but everyone gets to treat their toys how they like, even if you buy into the GM marketing plan of 'built in conjunction with the race car'.
Lol..the WHOLE REASON the car was designed ?? really??..the C7 race Vette was but not the Z06 the Z06 can see track duty and just about any kind of driving you want heck some people are going to use it as their DD'r and that's fine also!! why didn't you get you rear to a dealer when you first heard the car was going to be built you would have been first on the list..wow man you must get pissed very easy if that pissed you off...

Gee, and I've had so much fun driving my C6 Z06 on the streets the last few years. I guess I'm a poser after 43 years of street driving Corvettes

I don't think most people understand the entire function of a dealership. It isn't just to take your money.
All that's going to happen is Tesla will have their own dealerships that are not independent franchises to handle transactions, order inventory, handle custom orders, and service their vehicles (maybe even provide the service of obtaining financing for customers so they don't have to deal with multiple creditors/banks AND the place selling the car). Sounds like a dealership to me.
The question is then, why are dealerships today franchises with Dealer Agreements with manufacturers and not just extensions of the manufacturer already? What's the reason the manufacturers decided to franchise their retail and service locations in the first place and what makes tesla different?
Tesla is trying to bite off more than they can chew and product quality is going to suffer, customer satisfaction is going to suffer, build time is going to lengthen, etc.
my point is, even if tesla succeeds in selling "direct" it isn't going to look or feel any different than it does now. it will just be ONE company getting richer instead of 400. sounds like a great idea.
