Engine Build Experience

Can anyone tell me what this is for $5800 saw it on the 2013 ZO6 build site! Thanks

You get to participate in the building of the engine for your car. When offered for 2015 (?) the build experience will be conducted in Bowling Green.

They should pay us as the purchaser of the car as opposed to us paying them to help build the engine. What do you tighten a bolt or something.

If it wasn't so expensive, I would like to do it. I would like to hear from someone here who has done the engine build. Not only is it expensive, but you would still have to wait to get your car at a later date. Doubt that the engine would go right in and be ready to roll in time for you to drive away.

For that kind of money, GM better provide us with some micrometers and dial gauges so we can check the valve guides and clearances because it doesn't look like anybody did with the last Z06's!

My guess is the $5800 only includes a built by "John Doe" plate with the owners name on it attached to the fuel rail like the previous model. Hell for another $5k why not get a custom VIN too! Insane pricing but some will pay for that too.

There are video's of the C6 engine build you watch! Would be very fun, just too much money. IMHO

With what they charge and travel expenses it gets to the point there are other things I'd rather do with the money. But it sure would be neat!

Lots of bad speculation in here. Simply go to YouTube and type in the search. Several vids of owners who did the build. Looks like a lot of fun and great info. Yes, expensive, but if you have the cash, do it.
