Not sure this has been posted anywhere yet, we know the 8 speed is 8lbs lighter than the old 6 speed auto. I would be willing to be there is no more than 25-30lbs difference. The A8 will be significantly faster in a straight line from any speed to any speed.

I'm guessing more like 50+ lbs heavier with both the increased weight of the automatic transmission and the additional heat exchanger and plumbing required. The 6l80 weighs 225 lbs so the 8L90 should weigh 217 lbs. The TR6070 weighs 144 lbs. Then you have to compare the weight of the M7's flywheel and clutch assembly to the A8's flexplate and torque convertor.

The A8 is 8 pounds lighter than the A6, not the M6.

Once the A8 is off the line all beats are off. I think the A8 is big on the 60ft but from there on. If the Auto is so fast it doesn't show past the 60 ft so far. Roll down could go to the M7. Still who wants a Auto Z06? I can't get over that I did an auto once and sold it months later.
I'm staying with my blown C7. It's an M7! Plus it traps faster than 127.
