2nd Consensus??
I would think GM would **** off a bunch of the smaller dealers if they loose allocation because they don't want to order an M7 when the waiting list has all Auto's.

My dealer (a little guy with 2 allocated Z06's) received 1 last week. However, he told me that it will actually be accepted either this Thursday 10/16 or the following Thursday 10/23. He mentioned a TPW but in my excitement I forgot what it was. Late November I believe. I am going in to finalize my order this week and will have better info then.

Be patient guys, we will be getting our cars soon

Dealership could always trade the allocation to a dealer with a M7 needed then get the allocation back from the same dealer later in the MY once the A8 is available

I can hope, can't I????

Hopefully we will not see that here.
We did not forget this time already ... did we?

that is why they didnt announce 2nd ordering go round yet i am guessing, they didnt want to have a SNAFU like the 1st batch of c7's if there are delays
If your dealer has typed your order into his computer, he should have an order number for you. Some dealer won't put an order in the system until they know they have an allocation for it. Others will do it as soon as you go in and sign an offer. On our first C7, we had an order in for a convertible before the model year started, as soon as the dealer could actually enter it in the computer. Once it's in the computer, the dealer can get your status with a few keystrokes. For some reason, certain dealers treat this info like nuclear launch codes, and won't divulge your status without water boarding. On the other hand, a good dealer will keep you informed. My dealer for the last two vettes, Fichtner (now Rimrock) Chevy, sent me weekly updates, as well as a PDF copy of the OrderWORKBENCH document (from their internal computer ordering system,) whenever the status changed. The internal system has almost thirty different codes, and is much more informative than the very primitive GM tracking site. Here is a link to the codes we know of:

Obviously, if GM hasn't picked your order up (status 2000,) you didn't make the first consensus. As has been speculated above, when GM has a new model, even when it's just a variant of an existing car, they generally have a Quality Control hold of 2-4 weeks so they have all the initial cars ready on hand in case something shows up in the QC checks. It's much easier to fix in the plant than at hundreds of different dealer shops.
As an example, I have one of the first '13 427 convertibles, #41. Even though it is just a cross between a Z06 and a GS convertible, they had a 4 week QC hold at the plant, before shipping.
I've ordered an A8 Z06 and don't expect it before January, but since my dealer only has a few allocations, and there is no telling how GM will spread them out over the model year, it may be the Mar/April timeframe. There is about 8 months of production left, and if your dealer only gets, say 4 cars, he may not get the next car for another 2 months. Obviously, since your getting an M7 car, for the moment, you will go to the head of your dealers list, but once A8 cars start coming down the line, the M7s will no longer have priority.
