Default Order status question

Does anyone know if the tracking website recieves live updates, or does it have to go thru midnight to update? The day I placed the order my order didn't show until after midnight (basically the next day). Do the folks on gm live chat really have any more info than is on the tracker page? In light of everyone's posts today about phone calls, etc and moving forward today, I checked my status online. Hadn't changed any but via live chat the girl said it had been accepted. I asked if that meant it had moved forward to 2000 status and she said it's still showing at 1100....confused a little

Bit of confusion today. If you placed your order today or had your spot at ur dealer come up today in todays consensus. You would get moved to 2000 status. This may not occur till tuesday night though thats when the consensus closes. Then by thursday next week u will be at 3000.

Its been a long day trying to fix all the confusion. Some dealers are clueless and miss speak which in turn rains down on the forum

I hope you're right. I was a bit late getting an order in as we couldn't decide on regular stingray or Z06, finally just said screw it, we only live once, and sold our c6 and order the z. We did NOT order the z07 package as I couldn't see me making the best of it as I don't track any of my cars. Would be nice to get the new car early in the year as opposed to summer !

We actually ordered a little over a week ago and have watched online tracker every day, thinking no way it'd go this quick but still wishful thinking. I guess all of the constraints maybe are helping our order go up to top of list a little quicker, that's what I'm hoping and what it sounds like anyway

I'd say it's more important to track any car in your lifetime than to own the fastest new version.

You can't ever compare fast driving, canyon driving, or what have you with full on track flogging. It's the best sport that ever existed in one of the best machines.

If I had to choose I'd track a Mazda Miata and never own the Z06, vs. owning a Z06 and never really driving it proper.

The Z06, whether Z07 optioned or not is a proper machine on track. I wouldn't hesitate to take it out.

If you ordered a week ago, the order was strictly between you and the dealer. That is what status 1100 means. Until GM receives the order from the dealer it will stay at 1100.

The next step is for the dealer to actually order your car from GM. The first opportunity to do that was the order cycle that started today. You dealer either ordered your car or he didn't -- depending on whether he was given authorization to order a car, whether you were high enough on his priority list, and whether your configuration was constrained by his authorization. If he forwarded your order to GM, you should go to 2000 by Tuesday night. If he didn't order it, he should tell you that.

I bet. I'd love to track the new z, unfortunately there's absolutely no track close to us . The Texas motor speedway is closest thing to a track , and it's three hours from us. Not much here in rural eastern Oklahoma but dirt tracks.

Hallett Motor Racing Speedway in Jennings, OK. Its about 45 miles west of Tulsa. It's a fun track and shouldn't be too far for you to go.

You know what, I DO know where that is....saw a sign for it along the cimmaron turnpike. Granted it's still a good two and half hours away at speed limit....but I have made it to Stillwater in about two hours , not gonna tell how fast we went.

Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to check that place out after this car FINALLY gets here, whenever that may be.

Just a heads up from a guy who's going through this for the 3rd time in 4 years. That tracking website and the chat people associated with it are so rudimentary as to be useless. The site has 5 levels from order accepted to delivered. On the other hand, the internal GM system, which uses the 4 digit codes you referenced, has almost 30 different statuses.

Here is a post listing known status codes and is color coded to relate to the 5 levels on the tracking website.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1585921744

The best source for info is your dealer, if he is at all competent. He can pull up your status with a few keystrokes, and if desired, output the OrderWORKBENCH document as a PDF that can be printed out or emailed to you. On my last two vettes, the dealer sent me a weekly email updating my status, as well as a PDF copy every time the status changed.

If your dealer is unwilling (and then what is he doing to earn the thousands he is making off your order!) then check out the Chevrolet Customer Service order tracking thread in the C7 General sub-forum. Give them your order number, and in a day or so, you will have your 4 digit status code.

Just my opinion, but the only thing the GM tracking site is good for is the pretty pictures of your new car. Just my $0.02 worth.

I chatted with another person on live chat earlier who said the same thing, my order shows as "order accepted", but still no change on the status number. I kinda figured they'd didn't have much more info than that generic tracking site. Planning to ring the dealer in the am, I just hate to bother too much.

And btw, honestly the tracking site isn't really even good for pics of your car, atleast not mine anyway. Doesn't show the stinger stripe, ground effects, or black mirrors, and if you look closely you can see thru the glass that interior color on the exterior view is not the same as it is on the interior views....glad I know photoshop!
