Default Delivery time?

This is my first post

I'm currently 1st in line for a Z06 with a manual (supposedly automatics have some huge delay)

Now, my dealer keeps telling me, when I do make my mind up that I'd have their first allocation (big dealer here).

But the question is this; What is the time frame to have the car delivered?

I recently bought another new car, but am willing to part with it! Just neeed a timeline? I tried searching but to no avail

Thanks guys

Bottom line is we can only take a guess. There are already two batches of Z06s on order; about 500 ordered in mid-September and another 300 ordered in mid-October. The next opportunity for your dealer to order a Z06 from GM will be sometime in mid November.

The cars already on order will roll out relatively slowly due to the ramp up of production, quality control delays, etc. I think most of us are expecting the first batch to be mostly delivered in December and the second batch to be mostly delivered in January. The third batch of cars might go through the process a little faster. So if all goes well the cars ordered mid-November might be delivered as early as January or as late as February. That's what I would assume if I were in your position.

If your dealer has not yet received an allocation for a Z06, I would think he is highly likely to get one in the November order cycle.

Addendum: I am assuming that the automatic transmission will be orderable for the first time in November. So you may be able to order either transmission when your number comes up. Whether that choice will affect delivery is completely unknown to us customers.

That said, I would think about a manual if you are buying the car for fun as opposed to track or dense traffic commuting. I had an auto in my C6 and was planning on an auto in my Z06 until I bought a Stingray with the M7 and rev matching. It's a seriously nice manual with a low-effort clutch and a smooth shifter. Not the transmission I would want if I spent a lot of time in stop-and-go traffic, but a viscerally satisfying one for driving around the town and countryside.
