Shorthand for a specific dealer order submission cycle. Orders are entered against dealer allocations during a Thursday-Saturday window. GM then does some internal machinations and accepts orders on Tuesday. That order process is basically what we've been calling a consensus. While trucks or Malibus might be ordered every week, Z06s have been orderable on a less frequent basis -- 9/18, 10/16, last week, and perhaps 11/13.

So, for instance, by "first consensus" we mean orders sent to GM during the period 9/18-20 and accepted 9/23.

The copy of my order sheet is dated 9/20/14 and says the age of the order is 4 days and the event description says 1100 - Preliminary Order Accepted Priority 1. My status has been at 3400 for over a week but no TPW yet. I assume my consensus is 1.

Dealers can enter orders into their system any time they want. But they can't submit them to GM except during the specific order cycles. "1100" merely means the dealer typed the order and the dealer accepted it -- and that it was not yet submitted to GM.

The 9/20 date was the last opportunity a dealer had to order in the first consensus. If he had an unused allocation for that order cycle, he would have to submit that order to GM by that evening. It would have then gone to 2000 and then 3000 within a day or two. Otherwise it would have sat at the dealership until the October 16 order cycle. Your order sheet tells you that your dealer submitted the order on 9/20 and printed it at that time, before GM accepted it.
