Hey guys, I just talked with GM/Chevy customer service and the guy told me that the plant has produced my car, but no ETA on delivery. Does this sound reasonable at all? I was a 3300 last week.

It sounds reasonable. Looking at some of the VINs earlier and when they were supposed to be produced it looks like they are making between 45 and 55 Z's per day. So depending on how yours was configured I suspect you could have gotten scooped into the mix if they were running other Z's configured similar to yours. Going from 3300 directly to 3800 without hearing anything happens a good bit.

That happened to me last year with my C7 Vin#0744, I was at 3000 on 9/15/13 and it showed up at the dealer on 9/27. Dealer(MacMulkin) never even got paperwork or a call, he called me and said a truck just pulled up with 3 C7's and mine was one of them.

Mike Furman at Criswell (a ver large dealer) posted elsewhere that he expected most of the first consensus to be bult by the end of next week. So it is reasonable to thonk that quite a few have already been produced.

We have VIN 11 posted on here with an off line date of Monday. Based on that, I would guess the first builds started today and will finish Monday. I would be skeptical and would want to verify that claim with your dealer and/or the website tracker.

If they are able to give you a VIN, then believe them.

Not that I don't doubt it.....I'm in the first batch coming out, anxious but I can wait....but I can't see how they can keep it the 'big secret'.
No one here or anywhere has seen one being produced, on the line, out in the lot. Been to the factory and museum.....don't remember if one could see the parking/storage lot.
Like I said, just seems strange that there is no person that has posted
of seeing them start.....

You are correct we have yet to confirm anyone seeing any built yet.

That said there was someone on this forum or another forum claiming to have reliable info about Z's being on the line last Friday. No one confirmed that as far we know.

However many sources have said Z production would start this week. If this is in fact true (and I have reason to believe it is) it is within reason to believe what Customer Service told the Op could be true. After all It’s Thursday so there are only 1 or 2 production days left in the 11/3 week.
Again you have a point. Customer Service has been mistaken several times recently so until we know of someone who has laid eyes on, I would be skeptical as well.

A friend of mine that works for a chevy dealer was at the plant Thursday 11/6......Z06's were definitely being built. While he did not see any completed cars with the exception of one Z06 convertible for export (signal lights on mirrors) he said there were a number of chassis on the line. Easy to tell by the brake set up.

that sounds right and it will sit in the back of the plant for 1-2 weeks before being shipped.

I took the plant your earlier today. A machine broke in the body shop and unfortunately shut down the plant, but still got to see everything. I would estimate that roughly half of the cars on the line were Z06's. Saw them in every color in various stages of production, all with what looks like the base spoiler which I assume would have the wickers added later at the dealer with the skirts and splitter. Many had the Z07 package per the carbon ceramic brakes. Daytona Sunrise looks fantastic, but Laguna Blue was the color that impressed me the most. I've seen all the colors in person before on C7's, and a Z in yellow, but the blue just popped and was stunning with the clear tails. Torch Red looked great as well as Shark Grey with red interior. And there was a silver on red cousin to my C5Z.

There was also one Z06 convertible in the alignment area; Crystal Red with color matched vents, silver wheels and Kalahari interior and roof.

They look fantastic, and they're producing a bunch of them. Envious of everyone waiting for their cars. I'd still probably get yellow, but that blue.....
