Default Order change question

Currently sitting at 3300 on my car. How would a color change effect my order at this time? I am 2LZ, coupe, PDR, 7 speed currently. Would it move me back to 3000, etc?

Ask your dealer but my understanding is that no changes are possible.

My understanding is that your only option upon reaching 3000 or higher is to cancel your order with your dealer and re-enter it at the next opportunity. (The dealer will then take the ordered car and sell it to someone else.) If you change the order before reaching 3000, you would normally revert to pre-2000 status and your order would go through the acceptance process again, thus delaying it. But at 3300 no changes are possible.

The vehicle will be produced as ordered. In your mind it is your order but in the world of real life, it is the dealer's order. Changes may be made before 3000, and may be made (dealer acrobatics required) at 3000, but after 3100 not even Mary Barra can change it.

If color is important, relinquish and reorder. Do not expect your dealer to be happy but there are plenty of other dealers who would be happy to meet your need.

That is true. You may have another option if you ordered from one of the large volume dealers. At least a few of them had to order some m7 z06s for inventory inn the last order cycle. If you're with one of those dealers and one of the cars they ordered for inventory is the color you're looking for and otherwise works for you, they would probably switch cars for you. Unless you ordered an odd combo, it probably doesn't make much difference to then which one goes to you and which goes the floor.

Appreciate the input. Think I will stay with the horse I rode in on! Shark Grey and Kalahari will look great. Better yet, I am buying the car at invoice, so it's a deal I don't want to screw up!

you can legally back out of order and get your deposit back.

You would need to order a whole new car to get a different option like color change, which cant be added in parts department.
