I read on another thread the "Gene from Brewster, NY" said he is running on winter tires.
I am waiting for delivery of my Z, without the Z07 package, and have been looking for winter tires as I live in NJ.
What winter tires fit this car and did anyone get a new set of wheels too? If so, what wheels?
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you want to do this ? Since you are from NJ and they can get major snow we don't want to see your Z06 stranded in a parking lot somewhere. Even with Stage 1 aero the car is low enough that it becomes a snow plow in bad weather.

I really don't think Gene was talking about "Winter Tires" I think he was talking about tires with a tread compound not so soft that you could use below 40 and not scitter all over the place. I am sure his car is not going out in weather ie. sleet, snow, ice etc etc.
The TCS/VSC/ABS system(s) will absolutely keep the vehicle in line, to the degree physics will allow.
If you've ever been on a skidpad and turned off those systems, you'd be astounded by how the vehicle reacts, in that vehicles are nearly uncontrollable. Turn those systems back on, and you're in full control.
Point: yes the tires make a difference, but keep in mind as long as you're not doing something absurdly stupid, a Z with the right tires, will be as stable on wet/icy roads, as a Volvo, BMW, etc.
Agree ground clearance becomes an issue, but if the snow is that deep, you should jail break the SUV.
As a future '16 Z owner.........I'll chime in and vote for Conti DWS tires IF they have them in the size for the Z. Got them on my C7 and so much more confident driving in colder weather.

you have to account for tire width... way more prone to hydroplaning than a tire on a BMW,etc...
I agree that this is not a car to drive in the snow or icy conditions.
I am looking for an all season tire that I can drive with in the cold but dry weather.
I read the GM bulletin that under 40 degrees F the Michelin s lose a lot of traction and that under 20 degrees F do not even move the car.
