Is there a winter tire those of us that experience winter temps can use on the Z06 when the weather is dry?
I read a gm bulletin that under 40 degrees F the summer pilot ss tires lose traction and if the temps hit 20 degrees F do not move the car at all.
I'm running a full set of Pirelli winter tires. I had them put on at the dealership. They have given me zero hopping on cold starts and hook up pretty damn well in 40 degrees.
Stock sizes are 285's in front and 335's in rear.
Are your Pirellis 305's on all four tires?
Note he bought two 305's and two 295's, so no to your question. They mounted on the factory rims OK and were within the rim width recommended for the fronts and rear by Pirelli. The height difference of the fronts and rears should be enough so he doesn't throw codes.
Yes as AzDave pointed out they fit within factory specs. The fronts do bulge a bit and the rears are stretched a bit but it's totally safe and secure. The ratios of the front to rear diameters are nearly identical to stock. I've driven it in all sorts of conditions and speeds for nearly 1000 miles and they've been perfect. You can see the fitment in the photo below.

Best,

Fitment doesn't look to be that bad. At least you came up with a solution and shared it with the forum.
Continental offers the DWS, 285 fronts, 315 rears. Tire Rack rates them #1 in their surveys. I have them on my AMG, and they are very good - big difference in the cold/wet from the Mich SS'es they replaced (this winter). A hair less crisp in turn in, but hey, it's Winter. May go with them when the Z arrives...one of these days...FWIW
You are correct of course. I did not notice the size differences in the post. The Continentals seem to be closer to oem size. But how do the Pirellis look from the rear?
