Default RedLine Changed? *PIC*

I just passed the 500 mile mark and I notice my redline changed on my tack. This must signal the official break in period is complete? Time to open up this bad boy and see what she's made of!!!!

So in 1st it does not have yellow anymore? Cool, smart car, but nobody knows this or passes it on from the dealer. My first dealer knew a lot about my Stingray, but the second dealer didn't know crap about my Z.

All the yellow and red are gone. Only the small section of red at 6500rpms.

It has to do with the ECU, once you hit 501 is changes the redline. There's a YouTube video of a stingray going from 500 to 501 and the redline changes.

It is exactly the same thing as on the Stingray. Nothing new. I find it amazing that someone's dealer has been unaware of this...

I have 134 miles on my Z06 and no rev limiter, I thing it depends on the driving mode maybe. I think in track ans sport it is unrestricted.

Yes, as you noticed... The Redline changes at 500 miles. It's been that way since the C7 came out and carried over to the Z06.

Here is a short video I recorded at the 500 mile mark on my Z51 showing the change as it happens.

Thanks for the photos. I remembered that mine had a 'yellow line' that went away when I first got it but couldn't remember exactly where it started or the fact that the 'red line' was reduced.

And post-500 miles this same RPM advisory in the outer ring will return on each cold start and gradually go away as the fluids come up to temperature.

The true RPM limiter @6500 red line is in effect at all times and never changes on mileage or temperature. The outer ring is there to remind only...

The redline doesn't change - only the coloration does.
