Default Tires

Since the stock size runflat SS Michelin is expensive and hard to get. I replaced
my Ps2 ZR1 tires with the SS non run flat in the next size down.
front and rear which are 325/25/20 and 275/30/19.

Just 10 mm narrow and .2 tenths shorter they lower the car about a 1/2 inch all the way around. They ride a lot smoother and a lot less noise and are 900 cheaper a set.

great tire choice IMO they are going on the 2015 if it is going to as noisey as I think it will be.

non run flat in any brand does seem to effect road noise especially when they get worn it seems wouldnt mind switching to non runflat either but with mine going to be a road trip car would rather be safe then sorry

I will not drive without run flats.

I hit a pot hole at 60mph at 1 am in the pouring rain on an interstate, 80 miles from my home. I had a 1 inch gash where the sidewall meets the threads. I called OnStar and was told I could drive 100 miles on the flat at 55mph. I did and got home safely.

As soon as non run flat Super Sports are available in the stock sizes I will switch out the Cup 2's.

I've been running conventional tires on my Vettes since Feb of 2000, and they are far superior in terms of ride, noise, and traction to a similar but run flat tire.

As far as preparing for flats, I've got a cell phone, AAA coverage, a can of fix-a-flat, and a compressor in the car. None of which have I had to use.

I'm not sure if you are talking about a ZR1 given the reference to the PS2's, but if the they are and you compare to the non ZP PSS in the sizes you quote, then you are right the tires are 0.2" and 0.3" shorter diameter, which would lower the car 0.1" F and 0.15" rear, a long way from the 1/2 inch you state. Did you adjust the lowering bolts to get the additional lowering?

Since the ZR1 tires are the same size as the C7 Z06 tires, the OP indicates he is using the 275/325 PSS non-RFT's in the 19/20 size.

There are limited tire choices in the 285/30-19 and 335/25-20 sizes. The OEM PSS and Cup2 tires are the best choices now, in my opinion, but some people have tried non-stock size snow tires and other tires that will perform better in cold weather. As with all choices in tires, each person will have to evaluate the tradeoffs for looks, noise, treadwear, traction (cold, wet, hot, track, drags) cost and ZP or not.

Nitto Invos are available in 285/345 sizes. I'd classify this tire in the quiet, good treadwear, low price category.

Yes Zr1 and I never measured the 1/2 inch but It is more than expected. But I'm used to the small drop in height.
Much better ride and way less noise from the tires.

Ditto. As soon as I wear mine out. The noise and stiffer ride sucks.

It is unlikely that M will make the PSS in a non-ZP tire in the 285/30-19 and 335/25-20 as they have that application covered (C6 Z06,ZR1 and C7 Z06) with the ZP tire and there is not much demand for those sizes except for the Vettes, thus no commercial sense in the non-ZP.

The new Super Sports are not that bad. Quieter than my PS2's NonRF on my C6Z. Better grip too.

There is no way changing a tire to one with a .1" smaller radius is going to lower the car .5", if that was the only change made.

impossible.

No one said .1 anything. .2 front and .3 stated added up to a
noticeable drop seems like a 1/2 inch. I said no measure was taken.

The Z51 C7 with SS runflats has seemly more noise than non flat SS tires on my ZR1

You said you went with tires that were 10mm narrower and .2" shorter in your post, and you gave the size of the tires you changed to.

A tire that is "shorter" .2" in diameter is .1" shorter in it's radius thus the distance between the axle and the pavement would be .1" less than with the larger diameter tire taken off, not .5".

As Tadge says, "do the math". .1" does not equal .5".
