Modern medicine is great. Just think where we could be without the influences of the government, pharma, and legal issues. The left anterior descending is known as the "widow maker ". You are a lucky man. Enjoy your Z, just got mine.

Actually the left main is the widow maker, but the LAD comes off that one. You are in the correct neighborhood. Same thing happened to me last Aug. Chest pain, knew what it was drove to the ER and got two stents on top of my three previous ones. Doing great now, but will be better when I get my Z06. As for the poster who said we have to go some way, pick a way that you don't slowly smother. I am a pulmonary specialist with 30 years experience and trust me when I say that when you can't breath, nothing else matters.

I am glad everything worked out for you. You never know when it is your time, luckily, this wasn't yours. Enjoy life as much as you can, it is too short. Everyone should buy a Z06, that should get the heart pumping.
LAD is the widow maker. I was just about to post that and seen someone else beat me to it.

Glad everything worked out.
My mom when she was 68 years old went through this about 12 years ago. She was a 2 pack a day smoker from the time she was 18. (50 years of smoking blocked her widower-er maker). She stopped smoking after having the stents implanted and 12 years later at 80 she is doing well. Stents and the doctors that know how to install those things are miracles.
