You can do either. When you use your voice, you can say the whole address at one time. You can also use the onstar app and send the destination to your nav. I usually use my phone to look up where I am going and then send to my in dash nav. Copy and paste. If you read your infotainment manual you can learn a lot. This is the first actual owners manual I have read.
