Sueded Inserts
Certain colors of seats can be had with the sueded microfiber inserts. Is there any advantage to seats with this option vs without ? Ie: Cooler in summer/warmer in winter ?
Sueded inserts were in the Lexus ISF I bought three years ago. I ordered them for my Z07 comp seats. I found on long trips they kept me from slouching, I kept the position I started with, love sueded seats.

Hi Folks, I may be wrong but I don't beleive it is actual Leather/Suede. I beleive it's some sort of Microfibre cloth, like the sueded living room couches. I asked a dealer rep and he seemed to think it was not leather/suede as well. I was surprised at that because GM is charging more for it. Does anyone know for sure?

They claim suede but you maybe right. They claim the painted aero packages are carbon fiber too but based on what we see it is not carbon fiber but some sort of plastic.
I don't think it's real suede but it's still really nice. Very happy I got the option. Keeps you from slipping in the seat.
I agree about it looking really nice. I ordered mine without it only because I am afraid that it will wear out. I had a sueded steering wheel and I loved it but over time it really looked worn out. It looks great, you need to vigilant and take care of it.

Of course. Chevy refers to it as "sueded microfiber". Anybody who interprets that phrase to mean "leather" needs a better dictionary.
The problem with using microsuede on steering wheels is that it gets shiny where it gets the most handling. I'm hoping the same won't happen with my seat inserts. I don't have the comp seats so I don't have the suede wheel.
It is a suede microfiber (synthetic suede) which is very durable, and breathes well with the heated & vented seats. It actually feels cool on my back when I put the seat fans on (at least as good if not better than my MB E63 seats).
I have the sueded microfiber steering wheel and shift boot as well. It gives a better grip on the wheel and feels nice as well. If it should wear out in a few years, I'm sure it would be an easy replacement or resurface. I' ve been very conscientious about not having a big bucket of Kentucky fried chicken in my lap when handling the steering wheel.

You must be talking about 1979 when you had the suede.
Whole lot better now!
