May sound crazy, but was riding in friend's Tesla yesterday and the back up camera is always on allowing you to see exactly what's behind you. I really liked the feature. Nice to see if the bozo behind you at a stop light is texting and creeping forward toward your fragile rear end. Think there is any way to permanently enable it?
For GMT900 truck/suvs there used to be an aftermarket lockpick (hacking hardware) that enables you to unlock and configure these types of things. Not sure if anything like that exists for the C7.
Not sure how useful it would be to be able to see out the rear view camera when driving though ... ironically keeping your eyes on the screen that much would be as distracting as the texter you so fear without adding much more information that you can get by glimpsing at your rear view mirror.

I don't see any difference than using your mirror today, but its better vision which is exactly why we have it. I have asked the same question on my other two cars.
Your car looks great. I got one just like it on a train coming my way today.
I have a question too...Since the weather has been so bad I have not had the chance to test this but does it warn you when your getting close to an object?

No, but there's a grid superimposed on the display. I calibrated mine using yardsticks to determine how far back each horizontal line is. That gives me a pretty good estimate of exact distances from objects, give or take a few inches.
Unless they are armed and have evil thoughts. Probably paranoid from two instances while living in Africa. Crossing the Coborra Bassa dam in Mozambique in 1990 we stopped to let wildlife cross only to have two African teen age AK47 toting chaps walk up behind out truck from the bushes. Also had it happen in Johannesburg at a stoplight or "robot" as they call them. With limited rear vision, I want to know what's behind me when stopped. Just got in the habit of checking all 4 directions when stopped. USA unfortunately not a lot better than Africa these days in that sense!
