Suggesting a stripped-down Corvette seems to be the quickest way to get flamed here. I'm with you all the way on that, but it seems like the majority at this forum would rather have a root canal performed than have the option of a hard-core performance Corvette.

Although not 100% definitive here is a link to the C & D 2014 Lightning Lap times which show Z28 to be 2.9 seconds a lap quicker than C7 Z51. Sticky tires alone would likely make it a race. Both cars are in good company according to C & D's results....

There is an Autocrossing & Roadracing section on Corvette Forum, factory backed Corvette Racing teams, ACR Vipers, Porsche GT3 RS, etc... anyone that would consider flaming a post suggesting a more spartan track focused Corvette would be obtuse, close minded or intoxicated on their polish of choice.

Default Yes you can bet on it

Yep there will be a mid engine Corvette, so that GM can have a halo car that is as modern as the other end sports cars,

Very expensive and will be in addition to the C7.

I think that it is established that the traditional Vette, front engine, V8 has about reached it's peak.

Lap times are not record setting for the 2015 model,,,,,

We have all read the reviews there can be no disagreement there.

Sadly.....

Remember when the 2011 and 2012 C6 Z07s were seconds ahead of all comers at Laguna Seca and VIR.

What happened to those days?

The new C7 Z06 is a evolution of the C6 and it is a nice car,,,,
