Hello, I hope to get a quick response on this question since I am on the way to the store and would like to pick up an SD Card. What type/size card do I need to be able to download music to and play straight from the card. I will be getting my car soon and want to have my songs downloaded and ready to go. I thought I read somewhere a while back that the was supposed to be some special format or size or something. Anyone know what he manual says? Thanks on the way to Best Buy.
One like this would be most ideal, it isn't the cheapest 32gb card but that is because of the transfer speeds it is capable of. You can see in the top left corner it transfers up to 95mb/s that's around double the speed of most sd cards. This will save a lot of time on track days if you want to dump sessions off your card on a more frequent basis.
Just to add... the PDR is SD card only (behind the glove box door) and your digital music files can be played thru either 1 SD card (under center console) and/or even USB media sticks (or ipods, smart phones, iphones, etc.) thru any of the 3 USB ports.

Hi -- my dealer told me that only the 2 USB ports in the console can be used to play music. I tried my iPod through the one behind the screen and it didn't work. Have you found this not to be true? Also, I never knew you could put music on an SD card. That's terrific -- how do you do that? Thanks. Frank
Sorry for this stupid question.... What is the largest sd card the pdr and/or music take?
thanks
64gb in the PDR System, and I don't see why there would be a limit on the usb interface, as long as your usb storage device doesn't require power other than usb. So theoretically if you have a terabyte of music on an external hard drive you should be able to plug and play.

I have a 64 GB card (formatted in FAT32) in the glove box PDR slot and a 32 GB card in the console infotainment slot. Some people have gotten cards bigger than 32 GB to work with the stereo, but many have had problems. The manual says the system only supports the SDHC standard, which tops out at 32. However, if you need more than 32 GB, you can add a USB flash drive, as it will handle really big flash drives.
BTW - my SD card has over 5000 songs on it in MP3 format, ripped in either 256 or 320 Kbps, which would get me cross country several times.
