SO I booked 4 dates for track time after I return from Z06 school in Vegas and I want to make sure I have everything right for the car.

at that time I will have 1500 miles and I was told I should change the diff fluid. Im not sure why unless there is a break in on that also. Can anyone recommend a fluid?

sharkbar and harness's are in

will bed the brakes before going

tire pressure to 27-28psi (if I really dig it and plan to do more Ill get spare wheels with cups 2's)

the car is bra'ed but I was thinking about the novistretch bra for more protection. Will this restrict air flow too much?

Anything else?

I am not sure that a Novistretch bra will pass tech. Tire pressure is going to be dependent on temps but the general consensus is 30-35 psi HOT. You can start in the 27-28# cold range and adjust from there. Follow GM's recommendation for 15w-50 oil for track use and consider a track alignment.

Have you already put 15-50w in it? Factory fill is 5w-30. If you've already changed it to 15w-50, and it has relatively low miles on the oil, you should be good to go.
However, contrary to what some may do, I change oil before every track event 90% of the time.

I guess it depends on when you are registered for your first track event. If it's several months from now you might want to stick with 5w-30. If it's soon, maybe switching to 15w-50 is a good idea now.

Think about getting Clearplex on the windshield. They can really take a pasting on track. When track season is done, remove the Clearplex and viola, pristine windshield again.

Have fun.

The manual recommends changing the diff fluid after the first track event.

Consider dot 4 brake fluid. 15w50 with .5 l more oil over the standard fill.

Track alignment.

It can vary widely but I can have it installed for around $250 locally.

Is there any problem with doing the track alignment, then driving 120 miles to the track?

I don't think I have much of a choice. Just wondering what effects on the car/tires will be.

Tires will wear a bit faster but if you do a few track events it's worth it. I don't put more then 3 or 4k on my car a year so I'm not worried about street wear

None IMHO as I'm willing to accept a moderate increase in inner tyre wear for the more responsive handling. Once I'm past break-in I'm getting the track alignment and will run it 100% of the time.

Depends..........Toe is critical for tire wear, Run ZERO toe (in front) and you should be fine.

The track alignment will work great on the track but make your car a bit jittery on the street. I just deal with it (on my GS).

Do you have CC brakes? What color are your street wheels? Burnishing the CC brakes will put a layer of brownish crap on your wheels that will look like you've burnt them. It will come off but not without some serious elbow grease.

My wheels are black and ceramic coated so I don't expect it to be to bad to come off
