2015 Z06 Oil Pressure
I have a friend who just got his 2015 Z06 with 8-speed automatic. He's concerned about the car's oil pressure. At idle (when warm) it's running around 28 PSI. At 3000 RPM on the highway it's running 40 - 42 PSI. Even at redline, it doesn't get higher than 45 PSI. I have a magazine article (Vette Magazine June 2015) that says it should be 44 - 58 PSI at normal operation (whatever that means) and 65 - 72 PSI under load.
I'm curious what the rest of you are experiencing and if my friend should be concerned. BTW, his oil level is right between the hash marks.

Pretty much where my Z's oil pressure runs. My guess is the pressures you read about are with the "race oil" (10/50w) on board for media testing on the track. Higher viscosity oil = higher oil pressure.

Lot of pressure not much oil flow NOT good. I would put no stock on a mag article. It is not going to 44-58 and 65-72psi. That sounds way off!

The LT-1/LT-4 both have a dual pressure flow oil pump designed to provide additional flow/pressure when needed and this isn't just a function of RPM like typical pumps. Because of this the pressure readings will at times seem unusual compared to other engines.

Oil pressure readings your friend reports is STANDARD reading for the Z06 - tell her / him not to worry and drive the hell out of the car!

With the oil temp at 200 my oil pressure at idle is a hair under 30 and driving down the high-way at the same oil temp of 200 its between 40-45 so I would say you are good to go ! Remember Oil pressure at cold start-up will always be alot higher until the oil has a chance to warm-up . 2015 Z06 A8

That sounds right.

I just bought a 2016 yesterday. 130 miles and that's right about where mine is.

Engines running 24 hour races have oil pressure today of 35-50 psi. The more pressure the more heat and more HP to pump. The thicker the oil the more heat it holds! Modern engines have flow oil pumps not pressure oil pumps which give more HP and cooler engines with long life.

Z06 low oil pressure
My 2015 Z06 has the same problem. It runs 40 lbs going running speed but at idle it goes down to 25 to 28 lbs. I can't find anyone to tell me if this is normal. I've never had a car run that low of pressure and something not be wrong.
