Default Check Engine Light - O2 Sensor

Hi Guys,

I have had my Z06 (#296) in twice for a check engine light that is related to the 02 sensor. The code it throws is P0053 which is related to an 02 sensor. The dealer has replaced the sensor and I got the same error. Both times the light has come on is cold start in AM. (Garage temp 40-50).

The dealer called to say GM thinks its because I need to leave the car in 1st gear or reverse with the parking brake set. I usually leave the car in 1st but don't always set the parking brake.

My questions are...

Does that sound right?!? I have only heard the '05 needed to be parked in reverse. And I've had an '08, '09, '14, and now this '15 and have never had any sort of issue with how I park the car. Seems crazy to me.

And #2. Has anyone else had this check engine light P0053?

Thanks is advance.

Quick update for anyone that might have this issue in the future...

Been parking in reverse and setting parking brake and no more CEL, yet...

I will update if I have further issues or hear of a GM fix.

Thanks!
