Hey guys I'm going to be installing a 9500ci radar detector with laser shifters. I need to install the laser shifters and the radar behind the front grill. Does anyone have the steps or can they tell me how to remove the front grill? Also on a sidenote does anyone have an extra or spare center console or just the power outlet piece that rotates up and down? I want to make a custom one for the display and control to fit in. Any help would be great

To remove front grill, removal of front bumper/fascia is required.
Damn. What's the easiest way to get behind the grill? From underneath?
I put the sti-r plus on mine, which is the same size I think, without removing the grill. You have to take off the front splitter and cover that's under it and then take the screws out of the tray that is under that. Just take the front screws out and you can reach under there. I used 3m double sided tape to mount the alp heads and the sti-r plus.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I saw the screws on the bottom side of the grill and thought if I went from underneath I could unscrew those and get into it. And the Sti-r is pretty identical to the 9500. Did you mount the main control that everything plugs into under the dash?

I mounted it on the passenger side under the glove box. I just used the 3m tape. I got the alp with the integrated sti-r plus instead of two separate units. I pulled power from the power point under the center console and mounted a hi-fi speaker under the steering wheel. There is a cover that drops down under the glove box and under the steering wheel so I dropped those down and then used the tape to mount the speaker and the brain. On the inside this is all you see for the detector/laser
I ran the cables for the rear sensors down the passenger side, under the carpet, and then out to where the battery is. I had to pull the lower rear fascia completely off but there was a hole, with a plug, above the battery box and I ran the wires through that and then mounted the heads on either side of the license tag location. Hint, mark where you want the heads before pulling the fascia off. They're hard to see but here's a photo.

I was going to install the brain and the speaker under the steering wheel cover and grab power from the 12 V power outlet on the center console. I am however going to try to cut out the outlet and install the display and control in there so I can close it if I want. I was looking at the rear sensor I had a feeling I was going to have to pull the lower diffuser.
I installed my rear sensor without pulling off rear diffuser. I took off rear plate and drilled a hole into the rear from that area. I'm using 1 sensor for the rear.

I will also be using one sensor and it hooks right up to the existing plate screws. I'll take a better look at it tonight as I'm sure I can do that. Were you able to hide the hole behind the plate or did you need to install a grommet or something to clean it up?

Fwiw it's not really that hard to remove the rear fascia. There are clips on either side where the vents are and 2 screws behind the reflectors and 2 screws near the exhaust. If you pm your email address I'll send you an instruction sheet that came with an aftermarket exhaust that shows how it comes apart. Probably took less than 30 minutes total and it made running the wires a lot easier.

I removed the license plate and then took a long drill bit and drilled a hole into the rear hatch then filled excess hole with silicone.
