Interior updates "Complete"
When I bought the car, I ordered the 2LZ instead of upgrading to the 3LZ with Nappa leather knowing I would want to put my personal touches on the car. So right from the ordering stage, I had planned on doing the seats in the car.
I ordered the Dark Gray (didn't want Kalahari) because I wanted the 2-tone look in the car, and when I received the car and got the interior into the sunlight I was shocked a the blue tone the gray took on in the direct sunlight. Now this is not going to be an issue for the coupes, but mine is a convertible and against the orange paint the steel blue look of the seats looked terrible. Good thing I already had plans for the seats!
Took a while and lots of work with the seat company to come up with a color that was a close enough match to OEM Dark Gray to be acceptable. Probably 20 different samples were sent. We finally agreed on a custom color from Italy to get the job done.
In addition to the seats, I also asked them to do my center console and knee bolster to match.
The leather is all top-grain Italian leather, much softer than OEM, even more than the 4lt Nappa leather. I opted to keep the 2-tone effect minimal, I liked the idea that it would mirror the OEM dash.
I ordered the OEM carbon fiber dash, and added the same look to the center console and the driver's door window bezel area.
I also added an after market splitter and side skirts (saving 2/3 off the price of the OEM Stage 2 - which is great since I'm sure it will get damaged while I'm autocrossing the car at some point). And added a smoke kit to the tail lights (before on right/after on left).
I'm picking up hoodliner artwork next week when I go to KY with it. Then I should be done for the season.
