HDPE/Lapping question
I am wondering two things -
1) Any rumors of a hardtop for the convertible? For some reason I thought they had them for C5 convertibles but I could just be thinking of the fixed roof coupe.
2) More important, if you have one (if not for the Vette, I can get one for my M3 Cab) can you run in lapping and HDPE events?
I would imagine a bolt-on hardtop doesn't have the same structural strength as a true hardtop, but don't know how the rules generally look at it.
I don't mean SCCA competitive, I mean "Dave wants to run some hot laps and doesn't care who he was to wave by" stuff.

Dave, if you are just wanting to run some hot laps at a novice level there are tracks and event organizers that will allow you to run a convertible with the soft top up or down. Probably less dangerous at the novice level than street driving.
I don't personally know of any tracks on the west coast. Several in the east and southeast.
