Bad rear trunk lid paint

You guys should go back to your Dealers and bring it to their attention. I'm sure they will take care or it. I had some minor over spray when I picked mine up on several areas and went right around to their body shop. They were able to rub them right out and polish it back up.

This is an easy do-it-yourself fix (some masking tape and satin black spray paint is all you need). That said, stuff like this is totally UNSAT on a $80k - $100k+ car. That is something I would expect to see on a Malibu.

I found the black drip marks inside the trunk lid on mine yesterday. Not sure they can rub those out. Would prob need major repaint, which I am not interested in having done. I'll just live with it.

Looks the same under the hood too. From the drivers seat I can see an uneven amount of paint and overspray on the edge closest to the windshield. Won't likely do anything about it as I'd prefer not to have a repaint.

They fixed my overspray free of charge but thats when i located a huge white dot on the black underside where it was missing a chunk of paint which they will be respraying.

I am not sure I would have even noticed some of that stuff, including the items in the linked thread.
i guess i am not OCD enough. Either that or I am old enough to remember how Corvettes came from the factory 40 and 50 years ago, and consider new ones a huge improvement in fit and finish.

That stuff is not good. They can, and should do much better. Even one leaving the plant like that is too many. I know it's a mass-produced car and blah, blah, blah, but come on. I would be really interested to hear the BG plant manager's comments regarding this sloppy workmanship.

Had it on mine, rear lid where the lid comes up to the glass, that 3/8” surrounding flat. Near the back, there was paint missing. Also, on the very back of the lid, there was something in the paint (extremely rough). Pointed it out to the dealer and they repainted it.
