Default PDR Software Update Available?

Has anyone gotten their PDR updated with the fixes mentioned at the bash? Is it available for dealers now and are they charging for the update?

I'm heading to VIR on Friday and am wondering if I should try to get mine updated before.

Default No PDR Updates

Since I needed the GPS firmware updated due to constant rebooting, I requested the dealer do the PDR update at the same time. Here is their message: "Called GM and was told updates of this sort cannot be applied unless there is a problem present and the update is related to the concern."
So, if you expected the improved imaging provided with the update, buy a new car.

YES, I have gotten my update! There is a thread that includes the GM Service bulletin number you may need if your dealership doesn't know about it. Do a quick "PDR Update" search in this section and you should find it. I believe it was on page 3 of that thread.

All you have to mention is poor coloration and you'll get the update for free. If not, find a different dealer. I had mine done last week and it's a good improvement.

Did you lose audio with the update? There was at least 1 report that audio in valet mode is removed with the update. One member explained they lost all audio with the update. If this is true I will put up with the poor color in order to retain audio.

At the dealer today for oil change on pickup. I talked to service manager and the fix is available. PI1493. Valet audio will be removed but video will be improved per previous links. I am going in next wednesday and will advise after update is complete.

Yes, I had mine done before the NCM VIR event. There were multiple threads but clearly this one never got updated. It took a couple hours but mainly because I was a drop in and they had to run out to get a class 10 SD card.

As others have said, complain about the color being off and it'll be a warranty item. The down side is that it disables audio in valet mode. I also don't recall the annoying warning dialog that pops up whenever you select the PDR option before the update.

I dropped the car off for the HVAC update as well Sean, but neither took very long as about 5 hours after I left the car I was called and told it was ready.
