Default VIN Question

My car arrived at the dealership yesterday and when I called the VIN into my insurance company it comes up as a 2016 model year. As far as I know it is a 2015, no front camera, no auto hatch closer. Anyone else with a late build have the same information? My last 4 of the VIN are 7479.

Well, since the 2016 line has NOT opened yet, not sure how you could/would have a 2016 VIN! Am thinking someone keyed something wrong and gave you the wrong VIN when you called your insurance company. Just saying, and like you indicated you will find out when you go pick the car up.

BTW - typically you are covered under your current insurance policy anyhow in most states. Think you have like 24 hours to contact them after the fact????

I called the insurance company with the VIN as provided by Chevy and the insurance card came back with 2016, no big deal I was just curious. I will post a little later after I have the car tonight.

I think if you check the 10th digit of the VIN a F=15 if it were a 16 it would be an G. I think someone misread the digit to be a G should have F.

Oh well it is a 2015 as I thought, must be a insurance glitch.

You should double check the VIN on your policy. Make sure it matches the VIN on the car. In theory, if they don't match, you are not insured.

Not in good faith, only if you are trying to withhold facts
