OP - I run the side skirts and the GM accessory splash guards. They seem to help quite a bit on reducing the risk. I have 1500 miles and no chips on rear fenders or side of car.

I don't like the look of skirts so I just installed XPEL and have no issues at 2k miles. I would also add that the area where you live may have a lot to do with this issue. I live in SoCal so we don't have winter weather so we don't salt/sand our roads every year. As the roads stay relatively clear, not much of an issue with small rocks. I just drove up to Cheyenne Wyoming and left the Z at home. Regular streets looked like dirt roads with the amount of debris left over from winter road treatments.
Have GM splash guards, expel on bumpers, mirrors, headlights, rear wheel wells up to including area under gas door, and finally CF skirts by Katech and do not have any chip issues. Did not do all of these preventatives at the same time. Installed GM guards initially and within the first 100 miles noted a lot of kickback to areas infront of the rear wheel wells and area under the gas door. Installed the clear bra and obviously that did nothing to stop the kick back, but was protection. Liked the looks of the skirts, so installed the the CF skirts and now note no kickback.
Just got my Z06 order accepted. Want to make sure i protect the paint. Any suggestions for a good splash guard? Also any good wrap products?
MY C6 Z06 and 427 both had the same issue--the front tires were wider than the car, so they threw road debris back onto the car. I put on APSIS splash guards on both cars and never had a problem (one had side skirts, one did not). It was the 1st thing I did with the new Z06, along with the Xpel.
Was a sceptic at first...now a believer. Not only functional the guards finish off the front side skirts and the rear reminds me of the 70 vette when they added the flare to the rear quarter panels. Great CF price...local dealers are asking $250.00 for the guards.

you all need to work with your local dealers and make a relationship, support your local economy, my dealer sold me all 4 for 100.00. I go to them, they take care of me..
I ended up spraying my rear wheel opening edge w black plasti dip. They had gotten chipped up doing burnouts. I have the GM accessories splash guards. Very simple install.
Have the GM splash guards and painted them in Carbon Flash. Also installed the rockers and have had no chips since installed. I also wrapped the car in Suntek as I'm a little **** and want to keep it looking pristine.
I have the GM splash guards, but my side skirts STILL have not arrived. WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE PHOTOS OF MY REAR BRAKE DUCT AREA. Car has been annihilated and I only have 3000 miles on it. The clear bra install was not enough at all. I was actually wondering whether I could file an insurance claim. I will wash the car well and take some photos tomorrow. DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN to protect the area in front of the rear wheels. GM flaps are nowhere near enough!

Unfortunately, the GM guards are not as wide as the tires......the only guards I have seen that are wider than our tires are the APSIS guards.

I had the Apsis guards on my C6Z and will be putting them on my C7Z when it arrives. It's a quality product, although somewhat expensive. Along with the film, I didn't have a chip after 7 years.
