Default U-turns

Does anyone have a problem making tight u-turns? My tires and front end feels bumpy at the sharpest end of the turn.

Big fat tires with a lot of grip. It is normal.

I noticed that the Continental replacements don't do this.

Most any aftermarket tire will eliminate this. We have run Toyo R888 and T1 Sports on a few cars (both C7 and Z06) and it eliminates the "bump steer" when at full lock at low speeds.

You can avoid this by blipping the the throttle and sliding the back end around .........

Could this be because they are not as wide as the stock tires? Or not as soft? My C6 Z06 also did this but not as frequent. They were not as wide...

Or the tire tread design allows for more flex per each tread block?

Possibly the Continentals are not run-flats? I noticed on my C6 GS that replacing the run-flats pretty much eliminated the symptom.

I run Toyo R888's on an LS3 powered Mazda Miata in SCCA V8 miata. They seem to grip well, but do they have the grip of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's on my Z07/Z06? It's hard to compare because the Miata weighs 2230# and the Z06 about 3400. I would rather hear from someone who has run both tires on a Z06 than sit here guessing!
