Default CF Ground Effects Package

What is the difference between the CFV versus the CFZ ground effects package other than price?

Also, is anyone sorry they got the Z07?

Ready to order.

Thanks,

Jim

Differences are the cfv is exposed carbon fiber side skirts and front splinter. The cfz is painted carbon flash.

Glad i didnt get the zo7. Brake pad replacements are crazy on the carbons.

Competition Seats
Suede Steering Wheel
Black Wheels
Yellow Calipers
C07 Stage 3
CFV
Carbon Dash
Carbon Tonau Inserts (Convertible)
Black Emblems
Personalized Interior Plaque
Z06 Factory Floor Matts
No Stripes at all
BlendMount with MirrorTap for Valentine-1 radar detector
Mobil1 Oil Filler Cap

A few quarts of Mobil1 5W-30 Dexos for topping off
Lots of Glass Cleaner
No Film Kits, No Tinting

4000+ miles and only snag has been the Flex Plate that needed to be replaced (had to pull transmission to do it) only 300 miles later it looks like it will have to be redone, as the noise of the Flex Plate is coming back, which is the sign it needs to be replaced (loose rivets)

Other minor glitch seems to be a Service Rear Axle message which appeared after they did the Flex Plate (not sure if it is related), that dealer cannot find issue with (DTC code points nowhere)...so we disconnected the battery in attempt to reboot computer system - in testing phase with that right now...

Oh, and never use D if you get an A8 - M only, love the paddles !

....by the way..."glad you asked"....

I don't understand why anyone spending $100K on a car would worry about more expensive brake pads. The carbon ceramic brakes are so popular that GM is offering them as a stand-alone option in 2016.

I hated the Z07 package and didn't include it on the 16 I have ordered. It is just WAY to ROUGH for a dd or long trips. Had to change the tires right away and those CCB are stupid expensive. And I'm a drag racer, not a road course/auto X guy so I didn't care for it.

Speed, I get your point, but some owners have to work very hard and often sacrifice other things just so that they can purchase and enjoy their Vette's. Or they want to spend their money on other aspects of the car, ie paint, rims...whatever. JMHO

One thing to consider here is that the splitter and portions of the side skirts are susceptible to damage from gravel and road debris. Painted items are a whole lot easier to repair with some Carbon Flash paint.

Whatever option you choose, I'd highly recommend covering the splitter and skirts with a paint protection film.

they (side skirts) sure do help stop the "sticks & stones" from reaching the paint

I also thought about ordering the Z07 package, But after alot of reading on this forum and other places It is not for me, I mainly use on weekends and drag race so it would be a waste of money for my use. Also the side skirts can be found from vendors on this forum for a much better deal than ordering from the factory.
