2016 Corvette Z06's Rumored Nurburgring Time: 7:08
It's just a rumor, but it's a rumor that comes from Autoweek, so this one holds some weight with us.

From the article: "UPDATE: Our inquiry to a trusted source within General Motors was replied to with a flat out denial that the car turned that time."
The car could have done 7.079, or 7.082,and the denial would not be incorrect.

I visit the site daily, this section in particular along with some other sites just for the time. The one day I decide not to, we have auto mags throwing around rumor figures. Lol

What are they waiting for the C8 to come out before they release the ring time.

Wonder if a stingray time alongside the Z will also be published?

All this speculation and rumor stuff is dumb. I wish GM were more like Trump, and just post the damn info and tell the Ring to eat **** and deal with it. Or, better yet, just post the in-car video with no timer and let people view the video and time it for themselves. Then, technically, they never announced a Ring time. People just figured it out on their own.

I don't think they will announce it. If it was that good the marketing guys would have been all over it. Something is not right about this dragging on. Perhaps they hope the issue will just go away and people will move on to something else to complain about.

I find this a rumor because it rained the whole time while the C7Z was at the Ring!!! ANDDD There is a ban for going for record runs @ the ring...
Sooooo It ran 7:08, in the rain, during a ban, while an eclipse was high overhead during a leap year and Bigfoot caught it all on camera lol...

I'm going to guess that the delay on the announcement has everything to do with the ban on record runs, but I don't see how the ban is going to help the track's finances. I can't believe it's a fear of accidents. Is there any track that doesn't have to worry about accidents?

Maybe the delay is due to the time required in editing and splicing together the footage of the three identical cars needed to successfully complete one 12 minute lap? Just a thought....

Yes, GM is not allowed at this time to officially announce the time due to the track's recently instituted ban on "official" track times from manufactures. So the 7:08 may be true and GM has to officially deny it, or it could just be another rumor. Either way, we will hear nothing official until this ridiculous new rule is hopefully changed. I believe the Porsche 918 barely made the cutoff to announce.
