Default Black Wheels

Hi!

Does anyone know if the Black Aluminum wheels are anodized or are they black all the way through? I'm thinking they are anodized, but it would be good to know.

Thanks!

I'm not aware of any aluminum that is "black all the way through". Pretty sure there is no such thing. As mentioned above- they are painted.

Thank you for the replies! I'm wondering about the difference between the standard (base) wheels that are painted and the upgrade wheels that are black with a matt finish. I thought the standard wheels have a tint to them and maybe a super dark (nearly black) color, while the "Black Aluminum" option is flat black and $495 more.

Thanks again for your help!

Thank you very much! These are the wheels I have. Apparently, these are the Black Aluminum wheel ($495 upgrade). The "frosty" black wheels are standard.

Thanks! Once again, a picture is worth a thousand words (well, maybe a little less!)

Standard Z06 wheels are pearl nickel, a bright silver finish.

The $495 option is for the gloss black wheels.

The $595 option is for the spectra gray wheels which are a very dark gray, almost black paint with some metallic flecks and a gloss clearcoat. The lip is machined.

The $1995 option, well, those are just plain ugly.

There are no matte black wheels available for the C7 Z06 from the factory, yet. They should get on it along with bringing back something like competition gray.

Thank you, nhpln! This is just what I needed! Apparently, I'd gotten a hold of a pic of a flat black ZO6 wheel that was supposedly the $495- option! Looks like I got just what I ordered with my painted black gloss wheels! I'm glad to put this one in the "done" column! Thanks again to all for the help you gave - it's appreciated!

No worries, the gloss will be flat after a few miles....then wash/rinse/repeat. Enjoy your car.
