Default Deck Lid Pull-Down

I would like to add the deck lid pull down to my '15 Z06. Anybody looked into adding it to their car?

It may be very easy.

Butt....when I added it to my 2006 Z06 it was quite a project!!!
But getting the auto pull-down feature was well worth it.

I got the latch, then discovered that I not only needed that, but the key/lock mechanism above the license plate was different (the release cable is different, and the electrical wiring wasn't the same), and even the striker (the part that attaches to the hatch lid and goes into the latch) was different.

The wiring harness was different, so I had to get a pigtail from a salvage car and splice it up, and needed to run a fused power wire from the battery.

I had to do some rewiring of the fuse/circuit breaker panel in the passenger footwell of the C6 - as I recall that was to get the release switch on the dash panel to work.

Also, I needed a new trim piece to cover the larger latch.

After drilling holes to mount up the new latch and getting the cable and all the wiring hooked up, it worked great. I had to adjust the latch and striker slightly to get the proper tension when the hatch closed, but after all the work it was all worth the effort.

Whether the C7 will be that much work, or might possibly be much easier, I dunno!?!?

Here's a link to an old thread where I did the installation - scroll down to about post# 40 to where I got the parts and did the install with a bunch of pictures:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ear-hatch.html

I hope the C7 won't be as involved, but if it's similar to the C7 the thread above might give you some ideas to help with the mod.

Good luck, and let us know how the swap goes!!!

Edited: I see that BOBSZ06 posted while I was writing, and after reading the link he put up - it's not gonna be easy!! However, I don't think the wiring problem will be essentially any different than what I did for my C6.

Thanks for the replies. I had searched the forum and didn't see it. Maybe the aftermarket will address this.

Default Active Hatch Vent

I missed that auto hatch latch on my 09 Z, it just pull the lid down automatically, no need to slam, or leave finger prints behind.

I was just researching this issue, I've found on the Stingray Design & Feature video on the Chevy web site, there is a new device called the Active Hatch Vent to reduce the closing effort, it includes electrical control panels to control venting. Anyone know where is it, and if there is any adjustment?

If you remove your license plate and shine a light through the large hole while pressing the release, you can see the louvers open. They stay open until you close the hatch again. It is supposedly controlled by a "memory wire" that changes shape when heated.

A couple guys have posted here that they solved the problem by buying the mod that opens and closes, or just indexes, the window using the key fob. I can't recall the name of it, but there are several posts on that subject.

Also, since the Stingray has the same issue, there may be more information on the C7 General forum.
