Reading thru the threads for some the Z has too much power for others it's not enough power. Different strokes for different folks. I find it just right. Great in everyday traffic fantastic on back roads with no traffic. How much HP is enough? BTW all the bashing about the overheating is just over the top. My Z is perfect 1500 miles on it and totally problem free. What a great car. If you track your car then expect some issues

With regards to HP.......... If some is good, and more is better then TOO MUCH IS JUST RIGHT!
I agree How can one complain about too much power?
Well the truth is 650 hp is waaayyyy too much for the street and also way too many drivers have no idea how to manage it. Thankfully Ms. Nanny wil save most of them.
Oh come on now. Tracking your car creates much more engine stress tire wear etc. Why wouldn't issues occur. Not everyone who has tracked their car has had issues. BTW we weren't supposed to be tracking until 1500 miles were attained. Do we really follow the supposed break in period?

Agree. There are some guys out there with extensive competitive driving experience that can handle every bit of a C7 Z on the street but not many, actually very few.
Could you imagine the carnage if these vehicles did not have the compliment of electronic countermeasures that are engaged when we over extend our abilities.
I'm thinking those that track their car are fully aware of the additional stress on the driveline, tires, pads, ect and that they were TOLD to get a certain amount of miles on the car first. Wear items are different than actual issues the car seems to be having from insufficient cooling for various items.
I apologize to the op. I've gotten away from the nature of the post. I drive a C5 Z currently with 620hp and find very few places except the track I can use all those ponies. Now on track...definitely not enough. Heck I'd try another 250hp if my suspension and tires would handle it. Ok, I lied...I'd try it even if they couldn't handle it.
