Default Frustration

I'm confused sometimes why GM markets the way they do. Corvette comes out with a new color, (Long Beach Red); ties it into the Spice Red Design package with the convertible and then doesn't produce any until "Late Model year". My dealer has a Z06 allocation for me but we are at a standstill until who knows when. Sorry but I don't understand why they do that ??

I think the problem is limited to the Spice Red interior, as LBR is not constrained at all. Twilight is being shipped so Spice Red may not be far behind. I guess the question is what is more frustrating; announcing all the 2016 options at one time even if some won't be available for a while, or not announcing some until they're shippable. Or simply waiting for 2017 until shipping them. Kind of like the delay in ordering automatic transmission in the 2015 model year -- most people think it was best to announce that autos would be available at some point.

But I absolutely agree that when you want it, it's annoying to have to wait.

i agree completely. my dealer is holding my z06 spice red package vert order until ......its available. come on GM, why announce when it is not available. most companies have figured out their supply chain. come on, give us a date. if we had a date we could decide if we want to wait.

Been in the hobby for 16 years now.... nothing new. Not sure why they make the decisions they do but anytime there is anything new......Z51 carbon dash, carbon roof, carbon hood...... its tough to get it into production.

I stay away from anything new. Took a risk on the 2 tone interior and got lucky...... guess they figured out they had black and red leather on the shelf.
